Marco Chiurato

Marco Chiurato, an italian artist known for his extraordinary mastery in sculpting sugar, decides to use the matter and the own effectiveness of artist action in order to turn over the emotion-reaction scheme. Therefore what appears as a provocation is instead a humorous exegesis of reality. The purpose of this interpretation is to take the person back on the trail of his deep feeling, of his innermost emotions, quoting the contest only as an expedient, an outflow valve for the psychic movement.

His artistic production, although moved by flights of fancy, is unified by the presentation of the ordinary – meant as the well-known, the everyday aspect of life – to deceive the intellect and avoid pondering, in order to let the feelings' genuineness prevail, even if naive. As a result the conformity is overcome by a genuine spirit that suspends judgment and emotionally bonds with what he sees, without a clear distinction between reality and his inner life.
